NORMAN – A career night for junior Jordan Bowers that included her third perfect 10 of the season has earned her the final Big 12 Gymnast of the Week honor, the conference announced Tuesday. This is the fifth weekly honor for Bowers this season, and 16th of her career.

Bowers became the first Oklahoma gymnast to record back-to-back perfect scores on floor and is tied for the most perfect 10s on floor in program history (3) as she helped lead the No. 1 Sooners to a record-breaking performance Sunday afternoon in a top-10 matchup against No. 7 Alabama. With the Sooners sitting at a 198.675 with only Bowers routine to go, a 9.925 or higher would give Oklahoma a new team program scoring record. The Sooners, who earned their 198.675 team record in February, got a 10.0 from Bowers in the anchor spot to catapult OU to a whopping 198.775 and the third-highest score in NCAA history. Bowers's 10.0 also led the Sooners to a program scoring record on floor with a 49.825.

Bowers had a career night earning a 39.850 in the all-around, becoming the sixth gymnast this season to achieve a mark of 39.850 or higher and the only gymnast in the Big 12 to achieve the feat. The junior is now just the second Sooner to earn more than one mark of 39.800-plus in a career, joining Maggie Nichols. Bowers score propelled her back up to No. 2 in the nation in the all-around making her the highest ranked athlete in the conference in the all-around. Bowers's perfect score was her third this season and third career perfect mark on floor. She is now the second OU gymnast to earn back-to-back perfect scores on one event (Ragan Smith - Beam) this season and the first Sooner in program history to do so on floor. With three perfect 10s on floor, she is tied with Sooner great Haley Scaman for most perfect 10s on the event in school history. Her perfect mark also made it six straight weeks that a Sooner has earned a perfect 10 on at least one event.

Thanks to a career night, the Lincoln, Neb., native took home at least a share of four event titles on the night, earning the vault title with a 9.925, bars with a 9.975, floor with her perfect 10 and the all-around with a 39.850.

Bowers and the Sooners are back in action Saturday night for the Big 12 Championships right here in Norman. The meet is set for a 6:15 p.m. CT start and will air on ESPNU.
