The game marks OU's seventh BCS bowl and
fourth national title game in nine seasons.
The Sooners earned an automatic berth in the BCS with a 62-21 win against Missouri in the Big 12 Championship Game in Kansas City Saturday night. The victory marked OU's third consecutive conference title, sixth Big 12 crown in nine seasons and 42nd conference championship in the program's history.
The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department has announced that its allotment of tickets for the 2009 FedEx BCS National Championship Game is sold out to season ticket holders. Phones will be open beginning tonight from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. to answer questions from season ticket holders who requested tickets. The OU Athletics Ticket Office can be reached at 800-456-GoOU (4668) or 405-325-2424.
The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department has announced that prepaid parking passes are available to season ticket holders for $20 each. This is a 50 percent savings as game day parking at Dolphin Stadium will be $40. In order to receive a parking pass with your game tickets, orders must be received by Wednesday, December 10 at noon. In the remaining BCS games, USC will play Penn State in the Rose Bowl, Texas will play Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl, Virginia Tech will play Cincinnati in the Orange Bowl and Alabama will play Utah in the Sugar Bowl. The BCS standings formula consists of three components, each weighted equally: the USA Today Coaches Poll, the Harris Interactive College Football Poll and an average of six computer rankings: Oklahoma has been ranked in the top five of the BCS more weeks than any other team (44) and No. 1 more weeks than any other team (19). The Sooners were ranked No. 1 in the Coaches Poll, No. 2 in the Harris Poll and No. 2 in the latest AP poll, extending its record for weeks in the top five to 367. No team has spent more time at No. 1, in the Top 5 or in the Top 10 than Oklahoma.
