Equipment Staff Gets OU Geared Up
NORMAN, Okla. -- With the start of preseason practice right around the corner, the Sooner football team is getting geared up for the 2008 season... literally.
The OU football equipment staff was hard at work this past week outfitting the players with all their gear in preparation for the start of fall camp. Each member of the team was required to stop by the equipment room to get fitted for their helmets, shoulder pads and shoes. Associate Director of Athletics Equipment Brad Camp and Assistant Director Blake Kuenzi give you an in-depth look at the entire process. Housed in the Barry Switzer Center below the South end zone of Memorial Stadium, the equipment room is one of the most impressive spaces among all of OU's athletic facilities. In addition to housing the equipment for the Sooner football team and a number of other sports, it is practically a museum in its own right, containing an extensive amount of Oklahoma football paraphernalia and a vast collection of helmets from other schools around the country. View photos from inside the equipment room and go behind-the-scenes with the staff as they get the Sooners prepared for the season. |
