OU players have captured 64 national player of the year awards and have also produced the winners of the the Dick Butkus Award, the Walter Camp Trophy, the Lombardi Award, the Maxwell Award, the Bronko Nagurski Award, the Davey O'Brien Award, the Outland Trophy, the Mosi Tatupu Award, the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Jim Thorpe Award.
