What is SAAC? SAAC is a group of about 40 student-athletes made up of 2-3 representatives from each team on the University of Oklahoma campus. The committee meets about five times a semester and is responsible for things such as voting on behalf of OU student-athletes on legislation and the hosting of biannual Faculty Appreciation Days. This fall, SAAC made it's mark on school history as the committee created and implemented the Sooner Oath, a committment by student-athletes to act with integrity in all of their actions and represent the University with pride and dignity. OU SAAC was recently spotlighted in the spring edition of the NCAA SAAC newsletter, a national publication, for the creation of the Sooner Oath. SAAC recently hosted its third biannual Faculty Appreciation Day before the baseball game v. Missouri on Friday, April 18th. The program included two standout student-athlete speakers, two recent faculty winners of the most inspiring faculty award, and head men's basketball coach Jeff Capel. Everyone had a great time and it was a good opportunity for faculty, staff and student-athletes to interact. Click here to view photos from the event!
